Why this site matters

What a builder site
is really doing.

A builder website has one job: turn a local search or recommendation into a qualified project enquiry.

A potential customer wants to know whether you handle their type of project, whether you work in their area, what your finished work looks like, and how to start a sensible conversation about budget and timing.

I would structure the site around those decisions. Each service gets enough detail to be useful, real project photos carry the proof, and the quote form asks for the information you need without turning into a survey.

High-intent industry

Make the Enquiry
Obvious.

Primary route

The first screen should tell a builder prospect what you do, where you work, what the next step is, and why they can trust the page enough to keep reading.

Ask for a Builders quote

Brief focus

I'd scope the site around four decisions: what a visitor needs to see before they trust you, the action that should be easiest on mobile, the pages that deserve to exist for search, the proof you genuinely have and the proof you still need to collect. That keeps the page practical rather than decorative.

I can describe what a strong builder site needs. I won't claim I've shipped client results in this industry unless the facts file supports it.

What I always build in

Non-negotiable
for Builders.

A builder site should qualify the project, prove the work, and make the first conversation easy.

01

Qualify the project

Extensions, renovations, loft conversions, and commercial work need separate pages so customers can see whether the fit is right.

  • Service-specific pages
  • Project size guidance
  • Clear service area
02

Show genuine proof

Real project photography, locations you can verify, and plain descriptions make a stronger case than generic stock imagery.

  • Project galleries
  • Before and after context
  • Accreditation links where relevant
03

Make the quote useful

A short project form can capture the job type, postcode, target timing, and available plans before the first call.

  • Mobile quote form
  • Photo upload route
  • Tracked call and form actions

How I build it

My process
for builders.

The first step is a 20-minute intro about the kind of building work you want more of and the areas you can realistically serve. That gives the website one commercial goal instead of a long list of vague services.

Starter begins at £250 and is delivered in 10 business days. Business and Growth begin at £400 and £1,000, with 14-business-day delivery. I confirm the exact pages and proof needed in a fixed-price proposal before the build starts.

You supply the facts only you can verify: services, locations, insurance or membership details, and project photos you have permission to publish. I turn that material into the page structure, copy, mobile layout, search basics, and enquiry route.

What to avoid

Common
Mistakes.

Do not use stock photos as if they were completed jobs. A smaller gallery of genuine work is more credible, and the captions can explain the project type and location without inventing results.

Do not make one thin services page list every trade. Customers and search engines need enough detail to distinguish an extension project from a bathroom renovation or a commercial fit-out.

Common questions

Builders FAQ.

Yes. Start with the strongest real projects you have permission to show. I can organise, crop, compress, and caption the selected images so they work on mobile without pretending they are formal case studies.

No. Start with the areas you genuinely serve and have something useful to say about. A clear London service-area section is better than dozens of near-identical pages written only to catch keywords.

No honest designer can guarantee that. The site can make your services clearer, support local search, show genuine proof, and measure calls or quote requests. Rankings and lead volume also depend on competition, reviews, links, location, and how quickly you follow up.

Bring the services you want to prioritise, the areas you cover, a few real project photos, and the one action you want a visitor to take. If you are unsure, we can decide the goal during the call.
